What a time to retire as Tom Freitag, our long time Executive Director at Hearthstone at Murrayhill, not only celebrates 20 years with Hearthstone, but also begins his retirement. We are going to celebrate both and we’d like you to join us!
Here’s a message from Tom. Be sure to check out celebration details below.
It’s hard to believe that it has been 20 years since I started working at Hearthstone at Murrayhill.
I remember the first day on the job, meeting with our founder Walter Friesen, as if it was yesterday.
Walt shared his vision of building a quality retirement community where residents could enjoy life together. He wanted Hearthstone to be family; to have a culture of love, respect and integrity; to strive to always take the high-road. As I reflect over the past 20 years, I believe that we as a community have embraced that culture.
I chose to work at Hearthstone because of Walt’s vision.
I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others.
To build personal relationships and to be there for residents and staff when needed. Hearthstone gave me that opportunity and I have never looked back.
Over these 20 years, we have shared many experiences together. Like a family, through thick and thin, we have been there for each other. We have celebrated life together.
Hearthstone has truly been part of my family. Three of my children have worked here. Both my mother and mother in-law lived at Hearthstone. The wonderful impact the residents and staff have had on my family and me over the years brings joy to my heart.
It is difficult to say goodbye but I am confident that Walt’s vision of enjoying life together will continue and include many grand adventures ahead!
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you with love, respect and integrity.
What a time to retire as Tom not only celebrates 20 years with Hearthstone, but also begins his retirement. We are going to celebrate both and we’d like you to join us on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Hearthstone at Murrayhill.
In order to keep it from being too overwhelming, we will do two different times.
2:00 – 2:45 — Residents and their families and staff
3:00 – 4:00 — Outside guests – past family members, old staff, vendors, and friends
We will play a short program on our in-house tv channel, 981, for residents to watch in their rooms and others to watch on monitors around the building at 3:00pm.
