Connect with Senior Resources at Two Special Events
One significant challenge of being a family caregiver is that you may not be aware of all the services and supports that are available for you and your loved one. Hearthstone Senior Living wants to make it easier for you to get connected to those resources, by letting you know about two free events happening in Tigard and Beaverton this week.
Senior Expo: Friday, October 5
Now in its seventh year, the 2018 Senior Expo is moving to a new location in Tigard to accommodate more vendors.
This year’s Expo is bringing together a wide range of products, services and companies focused on seniors—retirement communities and real estate; in-home care and health care; rehabilitation, hospice and palliative care; senior advocate services and financial planning; and much more—even entertainment options!
As a participant in this year’s Senior Expo, Hearthstone at Murrayhill is proud to be one of five vendors who are providing a complimentary lunch to event attendees. (It’s a great way to get a “taste” of what we’re all about!)
The 2018 Senior Expo is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 5 at Calvin Presbyterian Church. The address is 10445 SW Canterbury Lane in Tigard. Admission is free, and free parking is available on site.
Health & Wellness Fair: Saturday, October 6
The Elsie Stuhr Center in Beaverton will hold its annual Health and Wellness Resource Fair on Saturday, October 6. With more than 40 local businesses and non-profit organizations in attendance, the focus will be on providing information and activities that address health topics relevant to the aging adult population. Both Hearthstone at Murrayhill and Hearthstone of Beaverton will be in attendance.
In addition to gathering health and community resource information, attendees can enjoy free health screenings, tasty refreshments, and vendor giveaways. Visitors who stop by every booth at the event can enter a raffle to win additional prizes.
Six educational lectures will also be available during the event, with topics ranging from Aging Adults in the Real Estate Market and Medicare Plans to Retirement Resources and Healthy Living Options for Seniors.
The Health & Wellness Fair runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Elsie Stuhr Center, a Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District facility dedicated to the recreational needs of residents “55 and better.” The Stuhr Center is located at 5550 SW Hall Boulevard in Beaverton. Admission is free, and free parking is available on site and at two adjacent church lots.
