New employees receive an orientation that emphasizes our Hearthstone values and expectations; and all personnel receive additional training throughout the year. This covers a wide range of relevant topics including resident rights and safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, understanding dementia and the aging process, managing conflict, and providing excellent service.

Hearthstone at Murrayhill is one of the very few long-term care communities in the Portland metro area that have received the Quality First Award.
Since our opening in 2002, Hearthstone at Murrayhill has consistently been awarded the Best in Class distinction for ranking highest among independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities nationwide. Pinnacle Quality Insight, a nationally recognized customer satisfaction firm, conducts monthly interviews of residents and family members to determine levels of satisfaction in 14 different categories, including personal care, food quality, communication, activities, dignity and respect, safety and security.
Throughout its history of serving the community, Hearthstone at Murrayhill has placed a strong emphasis on ensuring that the individual needs of every resident are met. In 2018, we qualified for the Pinnacle Customer Experience award, meaning we scored in the top 15% of senior living communities in the nation across a 12 month average for 12 different categories: Activities, Cleanliness, Communication, Dignity and Respect, Dining Service, Overall Satisfaction, Personal Care, Quality of Food, Recommend to Others, Response to Problems, Safety and Security, Transportation Needs, and Variety of Food/Menu Choices.
